Last few days

We've had quite a lot of female dogs to sterilise which has been perfect because I didn't get a lot of experience doing that on Margarita, and I've also been improving my suturing with some great help from Irene. Wednesday was a bit chaotic, with every operation there was some kind of small complication, and when Irene and I were both sterilising a cat at the end of the afternoon, they both started to wake up at the same moment so poor Kim had to rush around trying to get them both back to sleep... stress!!! But it all turned out ok in the end. Yesterday everything went a bit more smoothly, and today is our last day, there's another female dog and a cat on the agenda.
Apart from that, on Monday we went to see a big display of Christmas lights that's created every year here, with a different theme. This year they made a windmill and town hall out of lights, along with some other decorations, which was really beautiful and very impressive. On Tuesday we went to the cinema to see the new Harry Potter film (which was great) although Kim had already seen it so she saw another film with a friend of hers. Wednesday we went into town and had a look round the shops. We also found an Aqua Massage machine which some people might be familiar with. You lie in a big tube with a kind of rubber sheet over your body and strong jets of water massage you without getting wet. We watched some other people for a while but it cost a bit so we didn't do it ourselves, but the guy there said that if we came back a bit later we could try it for 5 minutes for free, so we did! It was very odd, not like a normal massage at all, and every time the water was on my feet I started laughing hystercially because it tickled, but apart from that it was quite good!
Anyway on Sunday we fly to Caracas, stay the night there and then the next day back to Porlamar again. From there we fly back home, arriving on Tuesday the 20th. I can't believe the trip is nearly over! It's been great but I'm looking forward to coming home for Christmas too. I'll write an update on the last few days probably when I'm back in Holland. Till then have a good weekend (and happy birthday to my mum!!)
