Work´s over, time to relax!

Well my second and final week of living on Margarita and working for the clinic is coming to an end, and I´m pleased to say it´s been really good! I´ve been really busy at the clinic operating, and although it´s been mostly cats I´ve also operated on quite a few dogs, both male and female. Sterilisng the female dogs is quite tricky, and I´ve only done it twice, but I know how to do it now so hopefully with practise I´ll improve... sterilising and castrating cats is no problem at all though, Eliseth left me to do a couple on my own with Juan, one of the guys at the clinic to assist me, and they went fine. So I´m a confident surgeon now!!

Apart from that I´ve been doing a bit more sport with Irene, and today on my first Saturday off we´ve been looking round for flights from Aruba. We have one lined up to go there, but are still looking for a reasonable priced one to head back. Found a few interesting deals, but we haven´t booked yet. Later on we went for a swim in the sea which was wonderful! The sea´s very warm and just opposite our hotel... swimming in the Caribbean in November, bliss!

We also booked a ferry to take us to the mainland on Monday. We wanted to leave at 3 o´clock, but it was full so unfortunately we have to leave at 7 :( But then we arrive nice and early. We´re going to Santa Fe first, which we´ve heard from other travellers is a lovely place, so we´ll spend a couple of days there. After that we´ll be travelling around by bus. It takes a while, but is very cheap.

Anyway, had a lovely meal of squid this evening in a local restaurant (I´ll have to include an entry just about what the food is like here, for people like Caterina ;) ) after watching Holland get beaten 3-1 by Italy on TV this afternoon :( I´ve added and rearranged the photos in my album, including ones of me operating, so enjoy!
